Kakrighat is an ancient, consecrated spiritual hub on the banks of the Kosi River where Swami Vivekananda achieved cosmic illumination under a peepal tree in 1890. Neem Karoli Baba spent extensive time here and consecrated the sacred Hanuman temple and Shiva shrine.
Sacred History & Manifestation
Associated with the legendary saint Sombarigiri Maharaj, Baba Ji renovated the sacred spot and held the grand Pran Pratishtha of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva in 1968, blessing all who travel between Nainital and Almora.

Located 22 km past Kainchi Dham towards Almora along NH 109. Beautiful 45-minute mountain drive from Kainchi.
Pilgrim Guidelines
- •Modest traditional clothing is expected at all temples.
- •Photography inside the sanctum sanctorum is prohibited.
- •Chant Ram Naam and Hanuman Chalisa with reverence.
- •Prasad is pure grace; receive it with both hands.
